Strategy
HCP & Medical Affairs Product Strategy helps assess and recommend actions that should be taken to optimize appropriate use of designated treatments. Ideally completed well in advance of Product Launch, SC facilitates analysis of existing vs. desired evidence in context of a value framework geared toward high-priority stakeholders. These efforts often involve development of an external stakeholder engagement strategy to focus evidence development and communication efforts.
Operating Model projects address decisions regarding Medical Affairs role, structure, competencies and resource requirements. We see Medical Affairs increasingly clarifying its relationship within the company (e.g., appropriate Commercial interactions, expectations regarding Market Access and Outcomes Research) as well as expanding and strengthening its competencies (e.g., in non-RCT research, in healthcare landscape). Our projects have addressed the needs of companies with late-stage development compounds to established global organizations.
Capability Design & Implementation
Scientific Commercialization helps clients plan, design and implement capabilities across Medical Affairs; these initiatives cover all Medical Affairs ‘core functions’ (e.g., Field-Based Medicine, Medical Information, Research, Medical Communications, Pharmacovigilance) and functions that cut across Medical Affairs or other organization areas (e.g., Compliance, Medical Legal Review, Strategic & Operational Planning and Data Management).
Policy & SOP Development works with the client policy makers to create or update controlled documents used to establish positions and define operational guidance for selected processes and activities.
Process Design & Performance Improvement leads the design processes to meet organization goals and ‘leading practices.’ Diagnose and recommend actions required to achieve target performance levels. Evaluate current performance against industry standards, client expectations and SC best practices; help align stakeholders on planned changes (e.g., data, process, competencies, etc.) and support implementation as required.
IT Systems Planning and Selection supports the selection of commercially available applications and work with potential providers to structure implementation initiatives. Define requirements and configure applications according to process design and best practices.
Staff Augmentation
Scientific Commercialization has staffed professionals on an interim basis in a variety of roles across Medical Affairs. We provide highly-experienced individuals who are able to act as part of the client organization.
